From a sports stand point I am all for a move to the ACC and Hockey East, wrestling could be interesting though. Pennsylvania is an Eastern state and now fits in more with the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. PA does not fit in with the Mid West. As for the research money I have no idea.

K "dude". I just went by what you said. " I TRIED to post but couldn't ". U forgot to mention you actually did post and ban was lifted. I'm sure that was an honest mistake though.

I'm not sure how the research money, or the revenu from the Big10 Network would affect us, but I'd have to think that the ACC could provide something similar.

I guarantee they did extensive marketing demographics when they implemented STEP including who makes what and what their racial, social, political and income demographic was with respect to expected continuance of coughing up $$$ to the NLC long before STEP became a reality.
If you're pizzed and still contribute, then you're a sucker to STEP
If you're a new member, then you're probably happy.
If you didn't renew they you're likely bitter as expressed in this OP.
If you're still a NLC member and paying the STEP, you're either content with your new situation or else non-committal with your status quo
STEP has nothing to do with the JS Scandal.

I never bought season tickets through the school. Never have, never will. All I'm saying is people keep bringing up the money as a reason not to leave the Big2. What does this matter to the everyday Penn State fan? I watch Penn State football and men's basketball. Is anyone telling me that either of those sports will suffer from the lack of research money? While I hope that every Penn State team wins, I've never even watched another sport besides Women's Volleyball.
How many schools decide if they're going to change conference affiliation based on research money? I'm fairly certain the only reason a school switches conference's is if they think their football team will bring in more cash. If Penn St were to leave the Big 2, a lot of money would go with them to the ACC.
The only thing I'm bitter about is the way Penn St has been treated since entering the Big 2.
