The other thing is you need to wrestle off if you move a weight class. In order to do it you need to be darn sure you are the better wrestler. You usually know as in practice those are the guys you are wrestling with.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.

I remember the one year we had a really good wrestler at 119, but a real stud at 125.
When the wrestle off came to see who would wrestle 119 the second half of the year it was pretty sad to see our 119 guy lose. They guy who beat him went on to get 2nd at states that year, Ryan Handy.
Ryan's older brother also moved down a weight class from 130 to 125 and left our 119 up shit creek.
