Not really where I would like to see AA, but he probably lucked out avoiding Ness in round 2. He should be Dzeiwa though.

Also interesting that none of the PSU 1 or 2 seeds got a pigtail. Lose some easy extra points.

If Andrew Alton wrestles like he is capable of, it won't matter where he is in the bracket. He can beat anyone at 149 in the BIG.

Sure, but I can't say I expect him to just flip that switch. Although I've seen Q do it enough times to know that it's possible.

So...why is it that lower seeds have byes when others don't? Seems weird. For example, one of the Steibers (Hunter?) has a #1 seed but no bye, while some lower ones have byes.

It's a random draw. You're actually likely better off to have the extra match because it's an easy way to earn extra points for the best wrestlers. PSU would be in a better position if Nico, Ruth, Q and DT didn't have byes.

That part of the "random" draw heavily favors Iowa and Minny. We can't really afford any slip ups now since we lost multiple points in prelims. The margin of error has shrunk.

If they win after the bye, they automatically get an additional team point.
Championship bracket:
Each match they win = 1 pt
Win by fall, forfeit, def, disq= 2 pt
Allotted bonuses if you look in bottom right of bracket for tech falls with near falls, tech falls with no near fall, points for advancement in consolation bracket, etc.
They also get overall bonus points added at end of final placement for team scores, so it eliminates any disadvantages of starting with a bye.

This is one of my favorite times of the year. Wrestling tournaments and NCAA basketball. I look for AAlton, Conway to move up. Brown will play a big part in how well we do as well.
