Anzalone checks out Penn State

But the statement you made is that only Stanford and Penn State can provide him the coaching needed to bring him from where he is now, to being a solid to great college football player. I love Penn State, I believe in Stanford's coaching as well, but those other programs have elite coaches as well and your knock on them was unwarranted. Furthermore, if that is not your intention with that statement then I would love to hear what is.

    USC and Ohio state are not the right fit because I don't believe they wanna develope players, they wanna win at all cost... I think penn state and stanford will develope him into a high quality talent, stanford does an awesome job with there kids... He is not a first day starter... I think he needs some work... thats what I believe

I have 2 kids, I could never pay a portion of the campain this kid did in the last 45 days, and most PA familys cant... He deserves a PSU offer cause of his size, Zayd deserves one cause of what he did on the field...He recorded 123 tackles, 14 sacks, one interception, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in AAAA state title run, in a hard as hell league... He killed AA numbers who played in the worst league... Lets not let Zayd get away... I would be pushing for him more, thats my opion...

    Not sure what "campaign" you are talking about. Those schools had already offered, he wasn't on the trail searching for, or stockpiling offers.

    Sure he's fortunate to have the means to tour the country and visit these schools, but that's not why he has a lengthy offer list.

    I'm sure the family doesn't mind sending the kid on a "campaign " across the country considering they won't be paying for their kids college tuition.

    I think your right, and I am not sure why... He looked good in the playoffs last year.. anybody know what his grades are like??? AA is a very good student, extremely smart dude...

    My only issue with Zayd is that he looks pretty stiff. Other than some tightness in his hips I think he's a fantastic athlete.
    I'm not so sure the staff isn't recruiting him hard so much as it is that Zayd himself has put his recruitment on the backburner in lieu of his basketball season.

    Remember, Zayd was one of the very few prospects who was offered at the Junior Day back in February. He was immediately taken to BOB who personally gave him the offer. You can't deny Issah's great production against the toughest competition in the state.

    I'm not so sure that Zayd is a better prospect than Anzalone, but I think he is pretty underrated here. I'm not gonna argue that he's better than Anzalone, but you can't dismiss his production against much better competition either. JMO

  • Yep, this guy is a HS numbers guy. That's all I need to know. Zayd Issah overrated on here, shocker. He's a stiff lB prospect that is good in short space and only moving forward. Anzalone is a much more fluid athlete than Zayd is, given film available. This can easily be reflected in the offers this kid has. Urban's seen him in person and hasn't given him much of a sniff so don't give me the campainged across the country line. Anzalone also picked up those offeres before he traveled all over. Zayd is a great HS football player, a good college prospect and worthy of an offer. But what you do in HS doesn't mean jack when you're being evaluated. Trust me.

  • I dont get it...OSU has had 3 4 star LB in each of their last classes and a 3 star to go with them...we had 1 high 3 star last year, and 1 low 3 star the year before...where is the playing time for this kid? I would say PSU if he gave it any kind of thought....

    He isn't looking at depth charts. It's pretty obvious.

  • i am in no way trying to cause controversy in fact i am annoyed when people do attempt that. i just love college football and especially the big 10 and like to know what is going on with big 10 teams so thats why i was reading here. so please dont think i am trying to upset anyone that said i do realize that there are irrational fans for every team.
    sometimes though reading things like said comment shock me to where i have to call bs. im in no way questioning the psu staff but when one makes an oxymoronic comment like the one posted i couldnt help but react. sorry if i upset anyone as i realize this isnt my teams board
