Anyone going to commit this weekend?

What are the chances someone commits this weekend? State Patty's Day could get them pumped.

TIFWIW, but I heard Hand, Fournette, and Humphrey were all looking to commit to PSU this weekend. lock

    Stop scaring me.

This year won't be nearly as bad as the past years.

Now that fraternities aren't allowed to throw parties and the bars shut down, a lot of Greek life (at least that I know of) goes to visit other schools on State Patty's.

On the flip side of that though, now that fraternities and bars are shut down people will be out on the street a lot more, which is WAY more dangerous for both them and the locals. The way this town and school tries to handle drinking blows my mind no.

Lance Harbor, First Team All-Texas QB. Rumor is that he has the Longhorns way out in front, but we can pick up a LOT of ground.

Good rule of thumb= stay the hell away from any QB Texas wants.

They have a knack for finding the biggest head cases/a-holes, especially once Coach Brew left.

Applewhite is a damn good coach, but Mack and Co. have essentially ignored him for the past few seasons. For his sake, and for the sake of the rivalry, hopefully this latest promotion to OC gives him more leverage in the power struggle/clustercensored that is the Texas coaching staff now that Mack is AWOL.

Dumbest crap ever. The PALCB is so dumb, it makes me very angry. They are only making the problem worse. Do they not realize the lengths that the youth will go to to rebel and get drunk? Underestimating the students, yet again.

    Yerp.

If the objective is to try and get as many students hurt as possible, they are going to do a remarkably good job of it.

With the bars and fraternities all open for state patty's, at least cops would know where kids would be, and would cut down on foot traffic back and forth from apartment to apartment (which are spread all around town, while bars are clumped together downtown and fraternities are mostly situated in the same area a few blocks off campus). Much easier to keep track of kids at fraternities and bars, and as long as bartenders and bouncers are doing their jobs they cut down on the amount of people getting dangerously drunk.

The only thing the cops are doing is making it much more difficult to find a relatively safer party spot for the kids. This will cut down on drinking marginally, and exponentially increase the chances of kids getting hurt.

    He's all Florida State, IMO

I don't know guys, I'm going to go out on a ledge here and say that Lance Harbor will get his scholarship offer to Florida State, commit, and then will unfortunately blow out his knee early in the season. My prediction is that he'll never play college football. But, hey, watch out for his back up, John Moxon, I think he could get a free ride to one of the Ivy League schools!

Even if that is true, all it means is that they are system guys surrounded BT better talent. Heard that Charlie Tweeder is the one making the real plays. Total jackass but a 5 star talent. He'd be like Wes Walker here.

Just State Patty's day. I don't think they should have shut down the bars... frats... eh...

They just want to end the event. It has become out of control. Not sure how you can do that though.

No love for the Dillon Panthers that are going to be on campus?

Tim Riggins might be a bigger jackass than Charlie Tweeder, but he could be the next Craig James (without that dirty habit of killing strippers nono)

The only real talent on that team is their running back, Wendell Brown.. The kid is built like a truck but the coach is a racist so he's not getting the touches at the goal line and not letting college coaches recruit him.. darn shame, hopefully BOB can find that diamond in the rough, we need RB's bad!

They just want to end the event. It has become out of control. Not sure how you can do that though.

To those who asked, Jive already answered so I'll move on.

I understand why they're doing what they're doing and sympathize with their problems with state patty's. However, it's not going to stop anytime soon. Trying to get forceful with students and restricting things more wont accomplish anything other than more tickets and more people getting dangerously drunk in bad situations that they wouldn't otherwise be in if state college let things continue with the status quo.

It's kinda scary, as the people causing the problems typically aren't the Penn Staters anyway (it's the jackass kids from other schools who can't handle the State party scene), but something like this isn't something you can shut down or stop. If the students want it to happen, it will happen. Other than keeping students under house arrest, which is impossible, they're going to drink on state patty's.

What the administration has done by trying to combat this holiday is make things more dangerous for both the students and surrounding communities. If you can keep it contained to one area (downtown/fraternity row), then things would be a lot easier for everybody. Instead PSU tries to cut off the head of the hydra that is state patty's and a few more pop up in it's place.
