    This anti- AA crap is total bs. I find it highly ironic that the same people who are bitching about the national media drawing conclusions without facts about PSU are happy to divulge exact same thing to an 18-year old kid. FACTS for all you holier-than-thou self righteous types: A) he hasn't announced yet. Hasn't picked ND yet. MIGHT still be a Nittany Lion. B) HE ISN'T delaying his announcement - ESPN and Nike are. Not his choice. As for his being a "media whore", the kid is getting interview requests EVERY DAY - it's not like he's seeking them out - so that Internet recruiting geeks like US can know what's going on - but then you blast him for being responsive. Level of ignorance in this thread has reached an all-time high.

  • Bunch of babies ITT. I don't even want AA as a LB prospect (well documented), but people trashing him are way off base. AA is a good kid and he has handled recruiting well. This isn't drawn out at all... I mean, it's JULY. Get real.

    rmj, no disrespect meant here, and I don't think the poster was mentioning anything personal about AAs family, but come on..........we all know he comes from a well-to-do family, who went out and hired a publicist from hells sake. Is that really necessary for a high school kid! There are better prospects out there at his position who don't need all the hoopla and fan fare. There are also prospects whos family can't afford to send their kids to camps, and make trips on their own dime, and afford publicists. IMO, and feel free to blast me if you want, this kind of attention seeking is not needed in high school football.................I mean a publicist for christs sake!

    If your good, you'll get noticed, and you playing should speak for itself. A good coach will do just as well as a damn publicist, and from what little I know, AA has a good HS coach.

    Again, his parents are partly to blame for all this unnecessary attention, and frankly, it's getting quite old.

    You missed the point. It's not really about the family having money. It's about trumpeting yourself and your family at every opportunity. It's about being hasty in your decision making and intentionally building up false drama... over and over and over again. You don't have to give interviews to every single reporter that calls you. You don't have to have family members posting on message boards.

    Just visit the schools, get to know the coaching staffs, get to know the players and other recruits, learn about the academic programs, take on the camp circuit if you so desire. Be humble; be private; be thoughtful and careful in your decision making. We don't have to hear about whether Alex has decided to use the upstairs or downstairs bathroom, or how many eggs he eats at 3:54 am compared to how many he eats at 7:18 pm. It didn't have to get to this point, but it definitely got EXTREMELY tiresome for a lot of people. Sure, it's only July, but when there are 4,000 articles about the kid on every site, it sure feels like January 2013.

    So now doing interviews was his problem? I agree that I personally think that hiring a publicist was a little too much, but who cares, their money, their kid.

    I'll take a kid good enough to get into excellent schools, honor colleges and the like any day.

    People here have sour grapes because hes ND bound. Some believe he owes it to PA to stay here and cannot grasp why he wants to leave. And even worse some are just jealous of his parents and their money. Before saying a 17 y/o kid should grow up, look at the jealous adult in the mirror.

  • For the record, I don't give a damn whether Anzalone commits to Penn State or Notre Dame or Ohio State or Millersville. My annoyance with him and his family has absolutely nothing to do with where he ends up attending college, and it surely has nothing to do with how much money his family has or doesn't have. I'm simply more than tired of hearing about him or having his name clutter up the boards with multiple threads at all times. I will be really happy when he commits to Notre Dame and we can finally be done discussing him all the time.

    Couple of thoughts. Pediatricians are, on average, among the lowest paid specialties in medicine. So, while I'm sure his dad makes a very nice living, I don't think he is rolling in cash like some here seem to think.

    Regardless, his family seems to think it is worth whatever they spent. But...the kid is smart enough to get into almost any school in the country with or without football. With his measurables and film, attracting attention of top programs was going to come anyway. The whole publicist thing seems stupid and unnecessary.

    Seriously? His play on the field and his grades in the classroom got him offers from all over. He didn't need a damn publicist. And since when do college coaches rely on a publicist to find them prospects?
