I'm not sure if Miami gets out of the ACC. From everything we have heard, NC St is more likely to go. The only way they do is if the Big XII decides to go past 12 teams (they would likely add Clemson and FSU to get to 12).

Lots of talk about UCONN here in CT, but the AD is an incompetent idiot so I wouldn't be surprised to see them stuck in the Big East and go down with it eventually.

The ACC inflicted the $50 million exit fee by vote of all the member institutions. I was intrigued to hear Wallace Loh express why UMD voted against the fee (I think GaTech was the other one to downvote it). Any way President Loh is a former practicing lawyer (35 years) and he termed it "liquidation damages", which he said he is opposed to "legally, ethically and on Principle" (I'm paraphrasing based on memory, but that's the jist of it).

I expect UMD to legally challenge the ACC on the $50 million exit fee.

If MD is successful, then the fiduciary threat to leaving the ACC, which is the only glue keeping the Conf. together, will be lifted and then the race is on to see which team can flee the ACC the fastest!

Florida State was the other.

I never feel sorry for Pitt esp. after how their fans acted after the past year. I'm still not convinced that the ACC will fall apart. It will depend on how much it costs Maryland to get out of the ACC. If they can get out cheaply it could be trouble for the rest of the conference. The Big 12 is actually in a worse position to be poached considering that they are literally surrounded by other conferences that have already raided them. It will come down to what FSU, Clemson, and the schools in VA/NC do. If the SEC grabs say VT and NC State then yes the ACC will likely fall apart. If the Pac-12 decides to poach schools from the Big 12, that conference could fall apart. The next year or so could be very interesting.

Psu2013 and I were talking earlier about this. The ACC and the Big XII cannot both survive. Four big boy, three locked in (PAC, SEC, and us). Expect the PAC to move within six months, they won't want to be left behind in the race to 14. The SEC will instigate 16, and we and the PAC will follow. I bet 12-24 months this will be done. SEC wants to move north some more, same region (NC and VA) we want into. I firmly believe we are only looking for one more team.

The big deal is who moves first between the Big XII and ACC. The PAC wants OU and Okie State, and they would leave Imo. Texas is wanted as well by them but they are a WC right now. I think FSU and Clemson could bolt if the Big XII was proactive. Miami may go with in that case. I think parts of the ACC may get left back with the Big East leftovers.

But if PAC moves quick and then ACC counters, the Big XII could fall apart in a moment.

ND has been gaming the B1G ever since PSU joined 20 years ago. ND's last play was ACC all-in except for FB.

If ND continues to game the B1G, ND is the ultimate loser. They belong in the B1G and the B1G and ND know it. ND is just trying to maximize their value. B1G is having nothing to do with ND gaming on them.

Yes the B1G is better with ND, but at the end of the day ND needs B1G more than B1G needs them.

ND has been irrelevant for the past 20 years. This year is an abberation. If ND arrogance and greed hold out, then ND FB will become irrelevant forever, IMO.
