A Look At Houston......

Some stats from the year.....
-Lead the FBS in passing yards at 444 yards per game.
-Ranked 62nd in the nation in rushing offense at 155 yards per game.
-Lead the nation in points scored, averaging almost 51 points a game.
-Their scoring defense is ranked 41st in the nation, allowing just over 23 points a game.
-Scored 73 points in a game, TWICE this year.
-Did have a couple of close games....beat UCLA 38-34, beat Louisiana Tech 35-34, and beat UTEP 49-42.
-Finished 12-1 in the regular season, getting blown out by Southern Miss in the championship game, 49-28.

Louisiana Tech (8-4, 6-1, WAC Champions) actually was up 34-7 in that game.
Rice (4-8, 3-5 CUSA) beat Purdue 24-22 when Purdue missed a FG. Houston beat them 73-34. Rice also lost to Northwestern 28-6.

Georgia Southern (10-2, a top D1AA team) scored 21 on Alabama (lost 45-21) and Houston beat them 56-0. It's interesting that Houston defended the option better than Alabama.

If we can hold their pass offense at bay and at least slow it down, Iike our chances. For us offensively, we should be able to run the ball on them at will all game long, hopefully sustaining drives and keeping Keenum and company off the field.
