I can absolutly see why this makes people nervous. But imo its just not something anyone can do anything about. This isn't going to give us a competitive advantage. The stipulations clearly state that they have to graduate AND use all of their NCAA eligibility. Honestly, if there had never been sanctions, or a scandal, this type of thing would probably be viewed pretty positively. The purpose is to help kids get an education. I doubt that the staff could use this for a recruiting tool and it wouldnt be very effective anyway. I just don't see the negative.
If walk-ons come to PSU with the understanding that they can get their loans paid for after college, the NCAA can easily make the distinction that they received improper benefits. Just because those benefits came after they were in school does not matter. It is still a benefit to play football at PSU. The NCAA would hammer us hard for it.
