    This is not a team that will only lose 2 games. Starting qb being replaced and huge losses on defense not being backfilled with as talented players. 4 or 5 losses is more accurate and psu will lose to osu um and nebraska for a while. Those teams are recruiting at a higher level and psu is backfilling with walk ons.

    Yeah and last year we were to win 3 or 4 and everyone missed by 5 and should have missed by 6 or 7. So this year we are only going to win 6ish. The trend of underestimating this team will continue. Bench has one year in BOB system just like MM with more tools. MM did very little without BOB. PSU is loaded with talent, they are at the end of the curve versus just starting, and Fitz has them jacked. More overall talent than most they play. 9 wins easy at a minimum.

  • For defense, DBs are in much better shape compared to the paper thin, inexperienced group last year. DL is loaded. DT has been next man up for ever. This will continue. Mauti and Hodges are huge but Carson will have a better year and Hull is an absolute stud. Defense will be just fine and offense will be even better. No surprises this year. Team is confident and in great shape. 5 losses my ass.

    That is perfectly fine. Last year I tried to explain why PSU would win 8-10 games when media was saying 3 and Vegas was saying 5. I heard the same kool aid remarks then too. This team will be just fine.

    Yes and we all know that recruiting rankings and on-field success are directly correlated. I mean we need only look at TCU, Kansas State, Oregon, Texas, and USC. Once again you're right newera, we might as well not even show up for the OSU, UM, and Neb games for the foreseeable future cause our players are completely inferior and our coaching staff SUUUUCKS. Not that the latter would have any effect on the outcome of the game anyway...

  • There were no games last year that we won that we should not have. Not true for games we lost. Zero reason to think 7 wins not a given. (Last year less Wisky) 7 teams will be inferior. That leaves 5. Only OSU will be heavy favorite were a loss is more likely. If u take the 7, going 2-3 in the others is worst case. That puts you at 9 wins, 8 if u go 1-4 in those games. I think they win the 7 they are suppose to and go 3-2 in the others as there are some favorable home games in that group. 10-2. Should have won 10 last year under dreadful circumstances.

    I didn't predict shit. And I never do 7 months before the start of the season. BECAUSE YOU CANT LOOK AT ROSTERS AND STARS AND PREDICT A WIN TOTAL WITH ANY SORT OF ACCURACY. I simply named 5 schools off the top of my head that defy your moronic claim. Oh, Boise St. There's 6. Chris Petersen doesn't count stars and the big boys come calling every year. Chip Kelly doesn't count stars and he's now an NFL head coach. But u keep counting pal.

    No. Not the case. For those of us who actually attend the games, you can see it. Last year saying 8 wins is way more far fetched than saying 10 this year. 5 missed kicked and blown call or 10 are won last year. PSU will never have to over come more than last year and still should have won 9 or 10 games.

    We aren't in the SEC. And pending the schedule, probably not true.

    Also, the sanctions (over which the coaches have no control over) have a say in that.

    Same argument was true for guys like Still, Lee, Connor, Puz. PSU has never been a one hit wonder for LB and DT. When Hull goes, the same will be said, then Wartman and so on. What school does not have shoes to fill.

    You also can't say that it will have no impact. There's a difference between saying "if so and so steps up, which we have luck with inthe past..." and saying "we always have people step up, so it shouldn't be an issue". Especially when you ignore the obvious faults of the players replacing them.
