Figured I'd make a new post rather than burying it in the Richard thread. The 2013 class shapes up like this:
Five players were signed in the early period, we had a write up on those guys in detail here. I'll have put a cliffs notes below.
F - David Goodwin (5-foot-9, 170 pounds): St. Louis native has been playing in the USHL, has got seven goals and 19 assists in 39 games. We caught up with him when he verballed a year ago.
F - Zach Saar (6-foot-4, 210): Big winger in the USHL, hasn't put up big numbers (four goals, eight assists in 30 games with 88 penalty minutes). Will likely be a third or fourth line player.
F - Dylan Richard (6-foot, 180 pounds): He's profiled today, two-way center with 17 goals and 17 assists in 34 games for the Spruce Grove Saints in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
F - Eric Scheid (5-foot-9, 163 pounds): Transfer we profiled who played at University of Alaska - Anchorage for a season in 2010-11. Put up six goals, nine assists in 30 games as a freshman. Playing in the United States Hockey League this season where he's got 16 goals, 24 assists for 40 points in 37 games.
D - David Thompson (6-foot-2, 187 pounds): Philly kid who has played in the British Columbia Hockey League for three seasons. Captain of his team this year, five goals and 20 assists in 40 games.
D - Patrick Koudys (6-foot-3, 198 pounds): Another transfer, this one from RPI. 5th round draft pick by the Washington Capitals in 2011. He went from HS straight to college, not the most common route, and didn't exactly light it up at RPI. He was a healthy scratch during a decent amount of his sophomore year so he left, and is playing in the USHL this season. He will have two years eligibility when he comes in this fall.
D - Michael Williamson (6-foot-3, 210 pounds): Recently committed this week, teammates with Richard. He's been hurt most of the year, but has one goal and five assists in 12 games so far. He's working his way back into the lineup currently.
G - Eamon McAdam (6-foot-2, 185-pounds): Top notch goalie who committed during the summer of 2011. Projected to be an NHL draft pick this June. 3.32 GAA and an .898 save percentage in 20 games. He's been splitting time with Cal Peterson who is headed to Notre Dame. I'd say he's the best recruit in the class.
If you want to keep up with these recruits on a more day-to-day basis, the blog Thank You Terry does an excellent job. I'll link the page to the current commitments, Kyle updates the stats every other week.

I've seen Koudys play. IIRC, his old man was the NFL equal to Mr. Irrelevant in an NHL Draft in the early 1980s.
Our hockey program should thrive. Anytime you can claim Buffalo Sabres owner is huge with program should help sell kids they'll get noticed at PSU!!
