  • Sorry if this was posted before but have you seen the video of this kid. He has no rating but I think this is a good example of someone flying under the radar. PSU has offered.....

  • LOVE his film. I don't think he will get a very high ranking because he doesn't do the camp circuit but I'd be pumped if they got him.

  • I don't know if the level of competition in the Newark area is just horrible or if this kid is just a monster, but I hope it's the latter.

    Every time he hits someone he practically goes through them. Kid can fly around & has a knack for sniffing out the football. When faced with an opportunity he never missed a tackle. Plays with a mean streak.

    Basically this kid screams PSU linebacker. How the hell does he not have more offers? Did he get his film out late or is high school football in Newark just that bad?

    I want this kid to come to Happy Valley. Badly. Almost as bad as Deeb...

  • Someone please tell me that is not the tape he sent to schools. The language in the music is horrible. I am no prude but if someone sent that to me I would like what are the kid and his family thinking of using that to represent him. Reminds me of the Michigan recruit who got dropped over his tweets.

    On the kid as a player himself looks like he has talent but his competition is bad so it is hard to tell. I mean the shotgun snaps were pop-up fly balls to the QB and he isn't that much bigger then his competition so I am not sure he is close to 6'2". Could have talent but he is no Lavar. Lavar was a legit 6'3", jacked and destroyed good competition. He was one of if not the most gifted physical speciman we ever recruited.

    Schools usually request game tapes, not highlights.

    The old height thing...coaches saw him in person already. So many NFL LB's are 6-2 and under that it doesn't matter. You are correct about the level of competition, but he is cleary heads above the rest atheltically. Not sure why someone like him didn't end up at Bosco, St. Joe's, or St Peters Prep....maybe some north Jersey folks could chime in there?

    Quite frankly, those schools don't spend alot of time looking for prospects in the Newark area. The rumor is that demographics were a big part of why Peppers transferred from DBP. BC and SJR are much the same way, though St. Peter's is more diverse. But my guess is that this is simply a case of no one from the prep schools seeing this kid play organized ball before high school.

    Thanks. Nobody goes to newark for a hell of a lot. St Benedicts for soccer and b-ball recently I guess.

  • This is me Al-Rasheed Benton and i can answer all of your questions
    As far as the competition level we're in the super essex conference which is one of the best in new jersey. This is not the highlight tape i sent to anyone, i have two different versions. I didnt go to Don Bosco or Saint Peters because my two older brothers played for my current coach and growing up i never wanted to play for anyone else. Anymore question let me know

  • Thanks for posting Al. Please don't feel like you have to justify yourself or your ability to anyone who posts here. Go out this year and play hard, train hard, and study hard. Do these three things and good things will happen for you. I hope you end up in Blue and White, but if you don't I'm sure you will be successful wherever you go.
