  • I wouldn't say Lou doesn't fit here, but he doesn't take us to the next level. Especially with the $$$ & length he was looking for. As for Nick Young...I love it. Cheapa one year deal. He isn't as much of an iso guy as Lou was (opening up opportunities for Jrue and ET, which is needed IMO), but can really score. Floor spacing, as Doug says. Hopefully he does buy into playing some D, but it isn't like he's any worse than Lou.

I really like Brand getting amnestied. Nothing personal as he really is the ultimate professional, but it was time to move on. Would like a move for Gasol if he is still available, but I would even be okay with Al Jefferson or Paul Milsap. Either way, I definitely think we're moving Iggy or ET (more so the former) for a big.

Not the best offseason, but I like the big picture.

I think voosh is now the 4th or 5th best frontcourt player on the roster. They need a scorer imo and thats about it.

I agree with this statement, I would however feel better if we also had maybe 1-2 more weapons on the bench to depend on if needed.

I don't know if the game will ever slow down for Voosh, but he has the most upside from an offensive perspective out of Hawes/Allen/Voosh.

Moultrie and Hawes. Hawes was a beast until he got hurt. It took him a couple months to get back where he was in The early season. Moultrie was a steal imo. Many prognosticators had the sixers taking him with their first pick right outside the lottery.

  • Iggy for gasol was sounding like it had some legs. That was before the Lakers got Nash though.

  • I wouldn't be suprised to see either Moultrie or Thad Young start at the PF for us now. Voosh needs to play better defense before he ever sees signifigant minutes for us.

Still feel like we are one move (honestly think that it is moving Iggy) from being legit contenders to make a push.

  • Awefully scarry for me....... I've been a Philadelphia NBA Fan since the team ws called the Warriors and they played at the Philadelphia Civic Center.

I can remember walking up to Wilt after a game in the 1960's around ten years old and big for my age but I didn't come up to Wilt's Waist.

Lou was never coming back. He's hinted at leaving for a while. He thinks he's worth more than he's actually worth.

Can you blame him? Iguodala made double what Lou did and somehow was given Lou's all star bid.

Y'all are much more positive about the team than I am. This team is not near a contender IMO. Weak inside presence, no true PF, a center who takes ill advised jumpers all the time and was effective for about 3 weeks in his career (they were three great weeks to start this season though!) and no true scorer. Sure, the scorer can be cleared up with the one move potentially, but losing Iggy just hurts the defense. The bench is hurt without Lou and with Thad starting. Hell, I don't like Lou, but he was a nice role player.

I don't think this team would have any shot at a title, and that's how I define legit contender. Hope you're right though!

Two things. No, I can't blame him, but that doesn't make him right. Second, please tell me you don't think Lou was an all star.

Disagree. Lou may be better at scoring, but Iggy beats him at every other facet. Iggy deserved the nod over him IMO.

Sir if Hawes starts for us at center I may assassinate Doug Collins. Hell I may kill Rod Thorn for giving that soft butterball a contract and giving Collins the option of playing that stiff.

Moultrie apparently is a bit lazy, which is why he fell, and we all know how that will work out under Collins (Mo Speights). So unless he changes his attitude he won't be moving off the bench. I hope he does though, very talented kid.

I think you start Lavoy and Vuc and hope for the best. Best case scenario, you trade ET for Favors and start Lavoy and Favors with Vuc providing scoring off the bench as the third big man.

He had more business being an all star than Iguodala. At least Lou can make a fourth quarter basket.

Not even close IMO. And if last second shots were all star criteria, Robert Horry would be about the greatest player ever and Lebron would not make an all star team.

Watching Hawes play defense does make me want to jump off the nearest tall building.

The Hawes contract is fine. 2 years for 13 million...that isn't terrible at all. I can't say I was happy to see him back, but that's a pretty good deal. He had a terrible series vs the Celts, but he really played huge during the Bulls series. He's very hit or miss at times, but he could just continue to work on his jumper, he has a role in this league. Not to mention, as much as I really like Voosh, he needs a ton of work. He did great in the beginning of the year, but really fell of towards the end. I don't think he had the mindset of such a long season, and I think teams started figuring him out. Here's to hoping he looks much improved during summer league.

No way would the Jazz ever trade Favors for Turner. Would love if that happened, but that's nothing but a dream. What's funny about that draft is Doug wanted Favors, but was overruled. What else is funny is that we probably would of gotten Monroe had we not gotten the #2 pick. Think of how nice things would be right now? Jrue with Monroe or Favors...so nice. Either way, we really need Turner to step up.

Anyway, I absolutely love Moultrie. He's the type of pick I love. 6'11 PF that is an elite athlete (37 inch vert). Pretty big wingspan. Shows a nice jumper as well. Best case he is a LaMarcus Aldridge. Worst case is Mo Spezzy. I don't think he's as much of a bum as Spezzy was, but he's still a question mark. Hopefully he buys into what Doug was selling.
