Williams ready for Penn State

Penn State signee Trevor Williams has gone about his business quietly since committing to the Nittany Lions back in January. The soon to be graduate from Towson (Md.) Calvert Hall spoke with 247Sports' Chris Anderson earlier this week about his school. Watch the video below and follow along with the transcript.

247Sports: You said that you headed up to the spring game last month, what did you enjoy about that?

Trevor Williams: I love the environment at Penn State. Beaver Stadium is a great place to be. The fans, they support the players a lot and I can't wait to get there to be a part of that family.

247Sports: Was there anything else that stuck out about them when you decided to sign with them?

Trevor Williams: Just the loyalty that the fans had towards Penn State. Going to the school and just meeting the people, meeting the players, everyone is so supportive of them. It's just a big family there that made me feel even more comfortable.

247Sports: This spring did they give you any kind of workout regimen or training program?

Trevor Williams: Yeah. Coach Fitz sent me the workout plan and I'm working on that as we speak.

247Sports: How is that going?

Trevor Williams: Good, very good. It's very intense, a lot of new stuff that I haven't done before in the weight room.

247Sports: When do you report?

Trevor Williams: June 24.

247Sports: Have you figured out who you're living with and everything?

Trevor Williams: I don't know who my roommate is going to be. To be honest I just want to get out and start as early as possible. The roommate thing, I guess that's for them to decide.

247Sports: Have they told you how they plan to utilize you in their system?

Trevor Williams: I think as an 'X' receiver, I'm not really sure.

247Sports: Do you have a goal for this summer? What do you want to be able to be ready for this fall?

Trevor Williams: Just everything - getting faster, getting stronger, getting smarter, knowing the playbook. Just doing the little things right, getting some yards after catch and just working hard on my all-around game.

247Sports: Have they talked to you any about redshirting or do you think you're going to be able to suit up and go from the beginning?

Trevor Williams: They told us that the wide receiver spot is wide open. Basically all I would have to do is compete for a job. I'm just going in with the mindset that there's no starting job. I'm last on the depth chart, but I'll work my way up.

247Sports: Is there anything you want to tell all the Penn State fans out there?

Trevor Williams: We are… Penn State!
