Penn State continued its huge week on the recruiting trail with the announcement of a commitment from West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial cornerback Armani Reeves on Friday morning.
Reeves, the No. 59 prospect in the country according to 247Sports.com, actually committed to Penn State while on campus for a visit last weekend.
"I've picked Penn State," he told Lions247.com on Thursday evening. "I picked them because academics are important to me and they have my major, exactly what I want to do, so that was a major factor for me. Just the relationship I had with the coaches and how it felt like home. Also, the way they want to use me on offense and defense and special teams, it really excited me and it just feels like home. It was a good time to commit there and I'm happy that I'm going to be there."
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Reeves is the No. 1 prospect in New England and the No. 5 cornerback nationally.
He becomes the third Top247 prospect to commit to the NIttany Lions since Wednesday, adding to pledges by wide receiver Eugene Lewis and Tommy Schutt. He is also the teammate and best friend of Penn State commitment Camren Williams.
Lions247.com will have much more on Reeves' commitment later today.
