Penn State senior linebacker Michael Mauti was named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Nittany Lions' 34-7 defeat of Navy, while defensive end Deion Barnes earned co-Freshman of the Week honors.
Mauti had 12 tackles and added a sack. He leads the team and is third in the Big Ten with 33 tackles. It was his first weekly honor since the 2010 season.
Barnes had a career-best five tackles and added his team-best third sack of the season.
