Madaras adds another offer

Mike Madaras

Va. Tech was the latest to offer Madaras.

Olney (Md.) Good Counsel offensive tackle Mike Madaras may not
get the press of some of his teammates, but the junior has turned many
heads so far in the recruiting process.

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound prospect is hearing from a number of programs,
and picked up another big scholarship on Wednesday to bring his count
to 11 verbal offers.

"I got Virginia Tech today," Madaras said on Wednesday evening. "They
called Coach McFadden, the d-line coach and then he called my dad. I
haven't been able to look into them yet, but I've always liked them.
It's a local school, kind of."

Madaras added the Hokies' offer to recent ones from Illinois, Michigan
State and New Mexico, all of which have come along in the last two
weeks. Duke, Maryland, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Stanford and West Virginia also have offered.

He will visit West Virginia next weekend for a junior day.

The big tackle visited Penn State this fall for a game, and has been in contact with the Nittany Lions through his coach. Penn State recently offered teammates Wes Brown and Ryan Watson.

"They've been talking to me, I went up to the Michigan State game," he said. "I liked it, the environment up there or games is just insane, I love it. Hopefully when they see Michigan State has offered me they're going to as well."
