Less than a month after his first trip to Penn State, 2014 Washington (D.C.) St. John’s College point guard Tre Campbell visited this past weekend for the Ohio football game.
Campbell already had an offer from the Nittany Lions.
Following his initial visit, the coaching staff extended an offer to Campbell, who was originally going to make the trip with Hart before the latter made his visit an official.
“The visit was great, I liked the atmosphere at the football game, you can tell their fans are all sticking by the team,” said Campbell. “It was a once in a lifetime experience, I’ve never been to a game like that before, it was really nice to be there.”
Both Campbell and Hart played AAU for Team Takeover this summer and the two are pretty good friends, but the junior point guard also enjoyed spending time with the other official visitor on the weekend, Kamall Richards.
After the game, the 6-foot-2, 165-pounder was able to attend a tailgate with the coaches before meeting with head coach Patrick Chambers.
“Coach Chambers’ message was just soak it in and embrace everything the University has to offer,” explained Campbell.
Only a few days after making the trip to State College, Campbell was on the road again, making a much shorter journey to visit Georgetown. At the moment, plans are in place for Penn State to head down to St. John’s to watch Campbell workout at his school’s open gym.
At the moment, the D.C. guard holds offers from Nittany Lions, St. Josephs, VCU and Towson, among others, and has been hearing from the likes of the Hoyas, Villanova, Cincinnati, Miami and Maryland.
