Smith commits to Penn State

Smith committed to Penn State this weekend.

Penn State kept rolling with its third commitment on Sunday, as Wayne (Pa.) Valley Forge Military Academy cornerback Anthony Smith accepted an offer from the Nittany Lions over the course of the weekend.

Smith joined linebackers Jonathan Walton and Zayd Issah in committing to the Nittany Lions over the weekend.

"I just love the community of Penn State, it's like one big family and that's what I was looking for in a school," said Smith. "The coaching staff is great, and you can't say enough about the people around the area."

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect committed to the Nittany Lions over scholarship offers from Gardner-Webb and Rhode Island.

He was recruited for the Nittany Lions by Ron Vanderlinden and John Butler. He picked up his offer on Saturday.

"I had some time to think about it with my father, and we sat down and talked about some things," he said. "Coach O'Brien gave me time, he didn't just come up and say that he needed an offer right now, he's a very understanding person and a great person. So that was it."
